Oscar De La Renta SS 2019

It is 2019! Another year had passed and another year yet to come. This year, I am giving myself a deadline to post regularly in my blog, in this blog.

Let us start our year with a bang with one of the brands I adore. Not just every celebrity or any A-list can afford to wear one but the fact that it creates boosts feminine side of you, softness, chic, classiness and dreamy feel like a princess waiting for your Prince Charming.

Illustrated four fantastic dresses from Oscar De La Renta's Sping / Summer 2019 Collection. From feathery beige pink to emerald green to bright crimson red to golden yellow. There are lots of must haves and beautiful pieces in the collection worth hanging in your closet, be illustrating and to be worn in any special events.



Firstly, I draw the face of the model then the structure of the dress using a Colleen 3030 Pencil in HB. 

I use Medium Yellow of the brand Reeves Watercolor for the skin. When it dry, use Yellow Ochre (Reeves Watercolor). Then, top it and blend it with Burnt Sienna. Darken the special points to create shadows and make it realistic. Also, outline the skin darker. 

Wait to dry, then, color the dress.



I use Brilliant Red (Reeves Watercolor) with lots of watercolor to create an opaque effect and brush it all over the dress. When it dry, create fur in lined strokes in Dong-A Poster Colors Pink. Then, top it with Pentel Poster Color White No. 29 on the fur. 

Mix Dong-A Poster Colors Pink and Reeves Watercolor Flesh Tint to create a beige pink effect and add more water. Then, brush it from waist below to create a flowy effect. 

For the shoe, I line it with Reeves Watercolor in Payne's Gray, brush  it Reeves Artists' Poster Colour in Silver. Then, top it with Pentel Poster Color in Peral Silver No. 91.

For the earring, I use Reeves Watercolor Yellow Ochre. When it dry, use Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold and Pentel Poster Color in Pearl Gold No. 90. Then, create dots and top it with Reeves Artists' Poster Colour in Silver and Pentel Poster Color White No. 29.

For the face, I use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black in lining the eyes, brows and nose holes while on the lips, use Reeves Watercolor Brilliant Red and top it with Reeves Watercolor Crimson.


I brush Reeves Watercolor Lemon Yellow all over the dress using the wet in wet technique, then top it with Reeves Watercolor Permanent Green Light. To darken the special points in the dress, use Reeves Watercolor Sap Green and line it with Reeves Watercolor Viridian Hue.

To further highlight the cut, texture and form of the dress, I use Winsor and Newton Cotman Watercolour 12 pcs. Palette in Hooker's Green Dark and Intense Green (Phthalo Green).

For the shoe, I use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black lining it and brushing it all over the shoe.

For the bag, I use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black, Brilliant Red, and Yellow Ochre.

For the earring, I use Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold and Reeves Watercolor Yellow Ochre. Then, top it in a dot with Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold on her ear. After,create lines inside the oblong-shape using Reeves Artists' Poster Colour in Silver. The feather-like below the oblong-shape, use Reeves Watercolor in Medium Yellow on upper portion and Reeves Brilliant Red on lower portion. Then, blend the two colors.

For the face, use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black in lining the eyes, brows and nose holes while on the lips, use Reeves Watercolor Brilliant Red and top it with Reeves Watercolor Crimson.


I use wet in wet technique for the dress. I brush all over the dress with water, then Reeves Watercolor Brilliant Red. Use Reeves Watercolor Crimson to darken the portion of the dress that needs to be darken. Need to mix Reeves Watercolor in Brilliant Red and Ivory Black, then use it to line and help in make highlights of the dress.

For the shoe, I use Reeves Watercolor Medium Yellow over the shoe. Then, top it with Reeves Watercolor Yellow Ochre and use Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold for small details in the shoe and gives shine.

For the necklace, I use Reeves Watercolor Lemon Yellow all over the necklace. When it dry, top it with Reeves Watercolor Yellow Ochre and line it with mixture of Reeves Watercolor Yellow Ochre and Ivory Black. Then, brush Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold all over the necklace.

For the face, use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black in lining the eyes, brows and nose holes while on the lips, use Reeves Watercolor Brilliant Red and top it with Reeves Watercolor Crimson.


I brush the dress with Reeves Watercolor in Lemon Yellow. Then as it dry, I brush it with Reeves watercolor in Medium Yellow. Let it dry. Then, I use Winsor and Newton Cotman Watercolour in Cadmium Yellow Hue to line the dress. After, I use Reeves Watercolor in Yellow Ochre with mixture of Lemon Yellow to darken some portions of the such the pleats.

For the earring, brush it with Reeves Watercolor in Yellow Ochre. Then, top it with Reeves Acrylic Fine Artist Quality in Gold. Also, I use Pentel Poster Color in Pearl Silver No. 91 to create shine on the earring and Reeves Artists' Poster Colour in Silver and Reeves Watercolor Ivory Black.

For the shoe, brush it with Reeves Watercolor Crimson. Then, top it with Reeves Watercolor Burnt Sienna. And I use Reeves Watercolor Ivory Black to highlight the details of the shoe. For the leaf of the shoe, I use Reeves Artists' Poster Colour in Silver and top it with Pentel Poster Color in Pearl Silver No. 91.

For the face, use Reeves Watercolor in Ivory Black in lining the eyes, brows and nose holes while on the lips, use Reeves Watercolor Brilliant Red and top it with Reeves Watercolor Crimson.
