Dior Fall/Winter Couture 2019

More Black for Dior!

Dior is known for having a rich heritage of couture dresses from Christian Dior to Yves Saint Laurent to Marc Bohan to Gianfranco Ferre to John Galliano to Bill Gaytten to Raf Simons to Maria Grazia Chiuri. The brand has been a must have in one's closet in four seasons of the year.

The latest Fall/ Winter Haute Couture collection for the year 2019 was full of black dresses from the famous Little black Dress to long gowns to very red-carpet dresses look. However, below illustration which I made captured my eye. The couture dress I illustrated had that ombre illusion from dark magenta to maroon to black that the color is between red and black - a galaxy like dress which talks about Christian Dior's history which had been the inspiration.

The couture collection show had been a controversy and lots of criticisms regarding Dior's downfall in couture specially in Maria Grazia Chiuri's direction and creativity. However as the first female of the brand, her direction with the brand has been a hot for millenials and other generation bracket. That is a thumbs up for her! At the end of the day, Dior is a luxury brad doing a business. But Dior should not be against still to what it has been before to what it has to be now. My only wish for Maria Grazia Chiuri should go back to each pieces that made Christian Dior a "CHRISTIAN DIOR" worldwide. She should see the stitches, how the couture dresses are made, what are the materials used, how the designs are from the start up to now. But should remain what she has on mind for the best of the brand.
