Chanel Fall/Winter Couture 2019

Classic Nerd In Fashion.

Chanel is a fashion brand that build a name in the fashion industry. It is known from Coco Chanel to Karl Lagerfeld to current Virginie Viard. The reputation and image of the brand has been known worldwide in different groups of people and different age levels.

Virginie Viard as the new creative director of Chanel. She takes modern Coco and Karl in her hands and you can see her vision every piece in her collection every season. Her first couture collection for Fall/Winter is all about library, books and being in the world of shelves. From the superb, valuable, out of the box and unimaginable creative world of Karl to the simple, chic, timeless and classic creative vision of Coco all in one collection. Her reference from their aesthetics to her own vision makes it more youthful yet sophisticated. The clean cuts, the not-so-over-the-top yet working looks and the before-and-now designs are all totally beyond what I expected from her to provide, to produce and to give.

The white dress below illustrated is a book - every pleat meant to be every page or leaf, the snowy-feather in white and pink on the side created to be a bookmark the black belt meant to be the ribbon hanging in the top. Not a literal book couture dress but a sophisticated next level book couture dress.
